The house that we lived in

The brickwork was crumbling

In the midsixties as I served my time
I spent all my money on music and wine
Six years on the nightshift
where daylight was rare
When I looked in the mirror
it really gave me a scare:
No colour in my face, no notes in my wallet...

Das erste und einzige Lied, das Graham
und ich "zusammen" geschrieben haben:
Es fing damit an, daß ich Graham während einer
Probe eine meiner wunderschönen Melodien vorspielte.
Eine Woche später hatte er einen
wunderschönen Text dazu geschrieben,
es aber gewagt, die Melodie zu verändern!!!
Und das Schlimmste: Sie war jetzt besser!!!
Mathematisch ausgedrückt: Acht Neuntel
der Melodie habe ich geschrieben, dafür sind
neun Achtel des Textes von Graham - ungefähr...
Die Idee einen "Low budget blues"
zu schreiben, kam von Andreas.
Ein bald darauf ehemaliger Freund
hat später kalt lächelnd gesagt,
das Lied sei wirklich "low budget".
